Data Cablers is the structured cabling and network infrastructure division of The Specialist Electrical Group Limited — a certified electrical contracting group operating across London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Essex. The domain has been held for three decades. The capability behind it has been built over twenty years of electrical and data contracting.

Five divisions. One company. One order.
Most infrastructure programmes stall at the interface between trades — containment not ready, fire stopping not signed off, a cabinet supply not energised, a specialist system arriving from a fourth subcontractor on its own programme. The group holds those disciplines directly, so the dependency chain is internal and there is one organisation to hold to account.

SEG Electrical
NICEIC-certified electrical contracting. Installations, rewires, mains and sub-mains, containment, EICR testing, emergency lighting, industrial heating and site set-up.

When containment, fire stopping, cabinet supplies and cabling are on one order, a delay in one is our problem to solve rather than your problem to arbitrate. That is the entire commercial proposition, and it is why clients who meet us on a single job retain us for the estate.

The group is led by Michael Simm (Operations Director) and Russell Solts (Commercial Director) — a time-served electrician and a contractor with 35+ years in data and electrical infrastructure. They still sign off how every job is delivered and priced.

Four positions we will not trade away.
- We test every link, never a sampleSampling is how a marginal installation passes. One hundred per cent of links are tested and certified with headroom shown, whatever the order size and whatever the programme pressure. This is not negotiable on price.
- We will tell you when you do not need usWhere existing infrastructure is sound, we say so in writing and we issue the survey report anyway. We would rather hold the relationship than win the replacement.
- We employ our engineers directlyNo agency labour on client sites. You get named people, cards, tickets and DBS evidence, and the same team across a programme rather than whoever was available that week.
- We name the standard on the quotationThe applicable instruments are referenced on the price, so the performance you are buying is defined before the order rather than argued after the handover.
Anyone can pull cable. The differentiator is whether you can prove, five years later, what was installed, to what standard, by whom, and that it passed.
Our operating principleOn the domain
datacablers.co.uk has been held for three decades. It was never developed because the capability behind it was being built inside an electrical contracting business first — certification, directly employed teams, accreditation scope and the evidence discipline that makes the name defensible. The name now sits on a group that can stand behind it.

St Albans out.
SEG House sits in Chiswell Green, minutes from junction 21A of the M25 and twenty minutes into St Pancras. That geography is the reason we can carry reactive obligations as well as project work: engineers reach most London and Hertfordshire sites inside the hour.
Project and rollout work extends nationwide, and data centre attendance is delivered wherever the facility is. Reactive response commitments are offered within the London, Hertfordshire and South East operating area, where we can meet them honestly.
