Backbone
Fibre across the site
OM4 and OS2 backbone between buildings, cabinets and the shed floor. Fusion spliced, pre-terminated or field terminated, with Tier 1 loss and Tier 2 OTDR results issued as standard.

Our registered office is at Unit 4 Grovelands, Boundary Way, HP2 7TE — inside Maylands Business Park itself. Maylands is one of the largest business parks in the East of England, and it is dominated by exactly the buildings that make cabling difficult: high-bay warehouses, distribution sheds and large-floorplate offices where the distance from the comms room is the whole design problem.
Local context
A 100 metre channel limit sounds generous until you measure the diagonal of a distribution centre. Warehouse and industrial cabling is a fundamentally different design exercise from an office, and it is what Hemel asks us for most.
Where warehouse quotes go wrong
The single most common failure we are called in to fix is a warehouse installation designed from a drawing, where the actual cable route — up the wall, along the roof steel, across the containment run and back down — put the channel well past 100 metres. The links either fail testing or, worse, pass marginally and degrade.
We measure the route, not the plan. If the answer is that you need a second cabinet and a fibre leg, we will say so and price it, even though it makes our quote higher than the contractor who did not check.

Testing & certificationQuestions we get asked
You need distributed cabinets linked by fibre, with copper only on the final leg to the outlet. The 100 metre figure is the permanent link and channel limit under BS EN 50173-1, and it is measured along the actual cable route, not across the floor. We measure the route and design the distribution points around it.
In our experience, almost always because the design was predictive only and validated on an empty or partly stocked building. Steel racking, stock density and pallet height change propagation completely. A survey done before the racking is loaded is a survey of a different building.
Yes, and in a distribution environment that usually means nights, weekends or shutdown periods.* We plan around MHE movement with exclusion zones agreed in the RAMS, and we will tell you honestly if the window you have offered is not long enough to do the work properly.
Our registered office is in it — Unit 4 Grovelands, Boundary Way. We know the estate, the access arrangements and the building stock, and attendance times across Maylands are measured in minutes rather than hours.
Yes. Satellite cabinets across a warehouse need their own supplies, and those are electrical works under BS 7671. The group holds NICEIC certification directly, so the supply, distribution, PDU, UPS and earthing are delivered and certificated by the same company installing the cabling.
Yes — HP4 and HP23 are within our normal operating area, along with Apsley, Boxmoor, Leverstock Green and the wider Dacorum district.
