Copper
Screened & industrial cabling
F/FTP and S/FTP systems with the screen bonded correctly, segregation from power calculated to BS EN 50174-2, and hardened outlets where the environment demands them.
Copper specificationStevenage · SG1 & SG2
Stevenage carries a heavier industrial and engineering base than most of Hertfordshire — aerospace, defence, pharmaceutical manufacturing and precision engineering concentrated around Gunnels Wood, alongside a large regenerating town centre. Manufacturing floors have electrical noise, temperature and access constraints that an office fit-out never presents.
Local context
Where industrial installations fail
The most common fault we find on manufacturing sites is a screened system installed with the screen bonded at one end only, bonded nowhere, or bonded through a connector that was never designed to carry it. The installation tests as passing on basic parameters and then suffers unexplained intermittent faults for years.
If you have a plant network with faults nobody can reproduce, that is where we would look first — and we will test and report on it as a standalone commission, whether or not remedial work follows.

Copper specificationFibre
Where electrical noise or distance rules copper out entirely, OS2 and OM4 backbone with a metallic-free path between buildings and plant areas.
FibreWireless
Coverage for scanners, MHE terminals and plant systems, validated against the environment as it actually operates rather than an empty floor.
Wireless designDiagnosis
Intermittent faults traced, screens and bonding verified, links tested to IEC 61935-1 and reported honestly — including where the existing installation is sound.
Testing & certificationCabinets
Cabinets across a plant with their own supplies, distribution, PDU and UPS protection, certificated under the group's NICEIC registration to BS 7671.
Cabinets, UPS & powerOffices
Conventional Cat6A commercial work across the town centre and business parks, with containment and fire stopping delivered in house.
Fit-out programmesQuestions we get asked
Sometimes, and it depends on the actual electrical environment rather than on the word “factory”. Variable-speed drives, welding and heavy motor loads are the usual triggers. Where screening is warranted we specify it and bond the screen correctly; where it is not, we will say so, because a screened system costs more and delivers nothing if the noise was never there.
Yes, and this is one of the more common commissions we take on industrial sites. We test the links to IEC 61935-1, verify screen continuity and bonding, check segregation from power against BS EN 50174-2, and report on what we find. The report is issued whether or not remedial work follows.
Our engineers are directly employed rather than agency, DBS checked and ECS carded, which is usually what aerospace, defence and pharmaceutical sites require before granting access. Tell us the regime at enquiry stage and we will submit in the format your site requires.
Yes. On a manufacturing site the window is usually a planned shutdown, a night shift or a weekend, and we plan to it.* If we think the window offered is too short to complete the work properly, we will say so before you commit to it internally.
Around thirty minutes from SEG House in Chiswell Green via the A1(M). Comfortably within our normal operating area for both project and reactive work.
Yes — SG4 and SG5 are within our normal operating area, along with Knebworth, Woolmer Green and the wider North Hertfordshire district.
